Retro has never been out of fashion. Classic designs with a twist have always been popular and this year, the motorcycle industry will roll out models dripping in nostalgia.
From Harley-Davidson through to the famous old Royal Enfield brand, superbikes from the golden age of high-performance have been merged with high-technology to satisfy increasing consumer demand.
In Asia, the market is expanding rapidly, which is helping to turn retros into a billion-dollar industry.
“They’re new motorcycles, but they’re also new thinking,” Mark Hoyer, the editor-in-chief of Cycle World magazine, a motorcycle publication in the United States, said. “They’re selling this perception of lifestyle … it’s a cultural movement; a rebranding of the whole motorcycle industry.”
Still, with 2019 just a few months old, watch out for these new-look blasts from the past.
